2026 Semi-Finalist
Reimagining “All in Love Is Fair”
How an inspiration, new harmonies, and lush strings shaped our soulful reinterpretation of a timeless song.
Jill Desiree has been named a Semi-Finalist in the Female Vocalist category of the 2026 Unsigned Only Music Awards for her reimagining of Stevie Wonder's classic "All in Love Is Fair." The recognition honors her vocal performance and thoughtful reinterpretation of one of Wonder's compositions.
Inspired by the soulful atmosphere of Rachelle Ferrell's "I Forgive You," Desiree collaborated with producer David Olivas to create a fresh arrangement built around reharmonized piano and an intimate sound. Drawing inspiration from the expressive ballad style of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, her vocal performance blends delicate vulnerability with soaring emotion while remaining true to the heart of Stevie Wonder's timeless lyrics.
The recording was brought to life with string arrangements by Katisse Buckingham and live performances by pianist Quinn Johnson and string players Allysa Park and Timothy Loo, resulting in a rendition that respectfully honors the original while offering listeners a fresh emotional perspective.
"It is a tremendous honor to have this interpretation recognized," says Desiree. "Reimagining a Stevie Wonder classic is both humbling and inspiring, and I'm grateful to share our heartfelt tribute to such an extraordinary songwriter."
